Profile:

Greetings readers! Here’s a slight overview:

I, Amy, am a 2011 graduate of The Ohio State University. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, and Minor in Professional Writing, there just three years after my 2008 high school graduation, thanks to completing a full  year of college while still a high school senior — at Lakeland Community College, via the PSEO program .

So after graduating high school, I transferred to OSU, where I wrote for their prominent student newspaper (‘The Lantern’) for two springs. I also completed an internship at the headquarters of the Ohio State Bar Association. Aside from these writing endeavors and other academic priorities in school, I found time to participate in — even write for — multiple nonprofit organizations for the college. This consisted mainly of a student group called Sportsmanship Council, for which students encourage a positive atmosphere for devoted OSU fans. In addition, I played intramural sports (winning two softball championships!), ran 5K runs to benefit nonprofits, and partook in plenty of other service projects the college offered.

Each summer, I returned home to Cleveland — particularly my alma mater of Lakeland CC — to write for and edit their student newspaper. This summer job began in 2009. Despite its specific ending in 2011, my overall involvement at my favorite school is ongoing.

So is my general writing practice! It hasn’t stopped either! For example, I helped relaunch a project to continue the flow of news elsewhere in my hometown of Cleveland — at the Cleveland Clinic! I remain a registered volunteer at our nation’s #4 hospital, where I perform the task of editing and publishing a newsletter for 1,000 fellow volunteers and other medical professionals.

So, view the writings of both newspapers, the OSBA, and various non-profits at the given pages on my website.  Enjoy! And please do contact me with questions, comments, or inquiries about writing assistance!
